New energy simulation project: ESM-Regio
Within the 7th energy research program of the federal government, the project ESM-Regio, short for “Multi-sector coupled energy system modeling on a regional level”, started on May 1, 2021. In the project, a model is created for the overarching analysis of sector-coupled energy systems. For this purpose, the four sectors electricity, gas, heat and transport, as well as relevant technologies at the interfaces of the sectors and their control algorithms for the city and county of Bayreuth are dynamically modeled with high time resolution.
